What is the Rainbow Community Council?

The Rainbow Community Council (RCC) is an initiative of the WRRC designed to bring together existing community organizations (allied with the Rainbow community) to develop a truly community-wide, sustainable framework for supporting the Rainbow community as a whole.

On May 7th, 2014, 25 individuals representing 18 local community, social service and governmental organizations gathered with a vision to create a new community council committed to fostering a connected, welcoming, integrated, and supportive community in Waterloo Region that is inclusive of members of the Rainbow Community.  Over the past year, a subsection of this group has been regularly meeting to develop a Terms of Reference for this important community initiative.

We are pleased to announce that the Terms of Reference for the Rainbow Community Council have been drafted and that on May 7th, 2015 (one year to the day of our original meeting), we will be gathering to celebrate the official founding of the council and to set our list if inaugural members and supporters.
