Announcing…. A Rainbow Community Space!

The WRRC Community Space Steering Committee is pleased as punch to announce… the opening of a Rainbow Community Space in Waterloo!!

The small but mighty space is located at 39 Erb St. East in Waterloo in the Creative Enterprise Mixed-Use Studio Space and the doors will be open in July 2012!

We only have this space for a limited time – it’s a stepping stone, just a place to get started and plan for a larger community centre in the future. But for the moment, with your involvement, this space could serve as a “hub” for our community. It can be a place for us to come together and organize ourselves… to share information and network…. to have a safe place to call our own… to build the kind of vibrant, thriving and inclusive community we want to be a part of.

What would you do with an LGBTQ-friendly space?  Together, we can make it happen!

Stay tuned for details on what will be available in the space, what hours the space will be open, what you can use the space for, and how to get involved or make a contribution. We will be looking for volunteers to fulfill a variety of tasks and roles as we move forward – it can’t happen without you.

The steering committee offers their most sincere thanks to the individuals and organizations who have made private donations allowing us to cover the first 5 months of rent. We welcome further donations to WRRC to support the community space. Please contact WRRC for details.

Finally, many many thanks to our partner, the Creative Enterprise Initiative, for their support and encouragement.
